How to get there

  • By plane : Brussels (BRU) or Charleroi (CRL)
  • By train : from Brussels - from Charleroi - from Namur
  • By local buses (from Charleroi or from Namur)
  • By taxi (we have negotiated prices to the retreat centre)

 

By Plane

From Brussels airport:

1st option: take a taxi from Brussels airport to the Retreat Centre.
2nd option: take the train from Brussels airport to Namur or Charleroi , then a bus or a taxi.

There is a train station in the airport on level -1.

You can take the train to Namur (change at Brussels-North / +- 1h30 in total / 12.10 euros in 2011), or you can take the train to Charleroi-Sud (change at Brussels-North, +-1h40 in total / 12.70 euros in 2011).

At the train station, take a taxi to the Retreat Centre, or a local bus.

From Charleroi airport (also called Brussels-South, code: CRL):

1st option: take a taxi from Charleroi airport to Dharma City.
2nd option: take the bus from the airport to Charleroi-Sud train station, then a bus to Florennes.

Take "Bus A" to  Charleroi train station (2.70 € in 2010). The bus is to your left when you go out of the airport. The journey takes 11 minutes and the timetable is here. Then take a bus to Florennes (4.80 € in 2011). Details below.
 

By Train

From Brussels train stations:

Bus from Charleroi-Sud to Florennes

From  Charleroi train station, take bus 137a to Mettet or 138b to Florennes (45 min.). The bus leaves from terminal 19.

From Namur train station, go to the bus station (100m from the train station). Take bus 56 and get off at Florennes Gare d'autobus (45 min, 4.20 € in 2010).
Bus 61 Florennes-Mettet that stops in front of  the Retreat Centre

The bus 61 stops right in front of the Retreat Centre. It is the line Florennes Mettet.

Unfortunately this bus does not run on the weekend during the holidays.

The main bus stop in Florennes is +- 30 minutes walk from the Retreat Centre. If you are in Florennnes, give us a call and we'll find someone to pick you up (we do not pick up people in Mettet, Charleroi, Namur , or anywhere else).

Before the start of the course, participants can try sharing a taxi using the following Google file.
A few days before the end of the course we will put up a paper on the board so that you can make arrangements to return to Charleroi or Namur .

  • Make sure you mention the price is for the Retreat Centre in Florennes. You can email to book a taxi from Brussels or  Charleroi airport (they need the arrival time, flight number, flight origin, number of people and a name to write on their board). They are based in Charleroi, so if you call from  Charleroi airport or the train station, the taxi will arrive within 5-10 minutes.

Ordinary taxi

  • Charleroi airport to Retreat Centre in Florennes: the price is approximately 80 € on the meter for an ordinary taxi, but you may ask for a fixed price (you may ask for 50 €).
  • Namur train station to Retreat Centre in Florennes: the taxi costs +/- 45 € for a 4 passenger taxi, or +/- 35 € for a 3 passenger taxi.
