Temple Project

Patrul Rinpoche opened Dharma City as a meditation center in the summer of 2007. Dharma City has now also become an international center for Rinpoche’s enlightened activities.
 

We, his students, are very grateful to have this rare opportunity to receive teachings and initiations, and to accomplish drupchens in this auspicious place. Dharma City has clearly changed in the last four years and has become more and more a special meditation place. A place for the benefit of whoever wants to develop the inner qualities of meditation.
 

Rinpoche's deepest wish for Dharma City is to use the Temple throughout the whole year and that Dharma City becomes comfortable for whoever comes to engage in any Dharma activity.
 

As a Sangha, this gives us an extraordinary opportunity to support Rinpoche’s activity by realising the Temple Project, making Rinpoche’s wish come true and creating a dynamic that will allow Dharma City to develop further and make it an even more special place for us.
 

A project group has been set up to coordinate the activities related to this project.

A first work estimation has been defined:
• we will need to renew the roof as water is coming into the building and slowly damages the roof's structure;
• insulate the roof to be able to heat the Temple;
• renew the roof of the two side buildings;
• build a floor inside the Temple at around 7 meters high, which will allow us to actually make a temple, including floor, walls insulation and decoration etc, and to heat the place reasonably;

During the preparation and building process, we will send regular newsletters to keep you informed about the development of the work and every euro spent.
 

Below is a list of what is needed - our target is 260 000 € to perform the main renovation work:

It is clear that to realise this project, we will depend upon the generous support of donations.
 

We would greatly appreciate your help in reaching this target. We know this is a significant amount of money, but with the help of each and every one, we believe we can have the hope to make Rinpoche's wish come true. For instance, if every one of Rinpoche's student collects 500 Euros, the work could start soon, with the roof. We would of course need more support from those who could afford to donate more… We would be very, very grateful. Like for the Zangdok Palri Temple in Tibet, we believe we can work together on this Temple Project towards its accomplishment and become connected in this auspicious event.
